Barbara Windsor Freed At Last

barbara-windsor-freedom-1To celebrate her 60 years in showbusiness, actress Barbara Windsor has been honoured with the Freedom of the City of London.

The ceremony, in the Chamberlain’s Court at Guildhall, began with an oath of allegiance and ended with Barbara being greeted as a “Citizen of London” and presented with her framed Freedom certificate.

Speaking before her Freedom ceremony, Barbara said: "I am honoured and delighted to be awarded the Freedom of the City of London. This is something that will be a wonderful moment in my life: the freedom to the best city in the world, and the one I was born in and love and adore."
