The South Bank along the River Thames is always worth checking out. Home to the National Theatre, The Tate Modern and the rebuilt Shakespeare’s Globe, it has a reputation for the best of London’s culture and art. It’s also an ideal walk for the London visitor, and because we really love London, we’ll often take a stroll from Waterloo to London Bridge for free entertainment from the many buskers, or just a coffee and snack from one of the many cafes. Now the Southbank Centre is bringing a touch of Brazil to the capital, with a festival of all things Brazilian running from 19th June to 5th September. They’re turning their site into a celebration of the country’s joyful outdoor life, with a host of performance areas for concerts and comedy. There’ll be a photo-booth open daily to grab a snap of yourself in Brazilian holiday mode, and the ever-expanding Project Morrinho. This growing social project is in collaboration with young people from Lambeth, building a fused landscape of Rio de Janeiro and London full of shared stories and places. There’s also a whole host of special concerts and free events to bring alive the South Bank with a touch of Brazilian culture. Check out festivalbrazil.southbankcentre.co.uk for more details, or just take a walk along the historic London Riverbank – because there’s always something going on in London.
